Marquis Wine Cellars invites you to join us in the store on Wednesday, June 24th, from 5 to 7pm as we welcome Courtney Kingston, president of Chile’s Kingston Family Vineyards. Marquis is very proud to have brought Kingston Family wines into the BC market for the first time earlier this year, and this will be a great chance for you to interact with Courtney and ask her about the wines you’ll be tasting. Wines poured will include the Cariblanco Sauvignon Blanc, the Lucero Syrah, and the Alazan Pinot Noir.
A family run operation and a founding member of Chile’s Movement of Independant Vintners (MOVI), Kingston Family Vineyards grows Pinot Noir, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc in the cool, coastal region of Casablanca. The family farm, just 12 km from the Pacific, had been in the family for five generations before being planted to vine in 1998. Splitting their time between northern California and Chile, the Kingstons were inspired by pioneers of cool climate reds in California, and bet that Casablanca had the terroir to achieve similar results in Chile. Today, their wines bear out the wisdom of that wager.
